Dr Awfa Paulina is a Scots Iraqi born GP and aesthetic clinician.

Dr Paulina’s main interest is non-surgical facial rejuvenation utilising all available technology from anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, deep fillers, Sculptra, silhouette soft, mesotherapy and PDO threads. Dr Paulina is accredit by Allergan, Mertz, Sinclair pharma and Esthetique distribution. Awfa Paulina was one of the finalist in Scottish Aesthetic award 2015.

He is regarded as one of Scotland’s most forward-thinking aesthetic practitioners and is credited with bringing the one-stop shop aesthetic business to Scotland.

Dr Awfa studied at the prestigious Saddam College for Medicine in Iraq in 1993 before moving to Scotland with his wife Dr Basma.

Practising as a GP, he became a non-Executive board Director with Medisco Plc in 2014 and set up Clinica Medica In Glasgow as a one stop shop aesthetic practise.

Credited with bringing the controversial bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) to Scotland, Clinica Medica is also the first and only clinic to have brought the Kleresca acne, rosacea and skin rejuvenation programme to Scotland.

Dr Awfa was a finalist in the Scottish Aesthetic awards 2016.

Referring to his innovative nature, Dr Awfa claims he was inspired by Steve Jobs.

He stated: “Everybody thought Steve Jobs was dreaming of the impossible – a buttonless mobile yet he made it as he died. I aim to bring the same sense of leadership and innovation to aesthetic prescribes and dream of being at the centre of excellence.”

Dr Awfa has made it his mission to raise the standards of aesthetic practitioners in Scotland and further afield.

He has called for more peer interaction and set industry standards.

He said: “Aesthetic clinics should be connected to share information and provide a higher standard of service to Scotland. Peer reviews and peer interaction is the way forward.  In the car industry BMW and Mercedes open shops next to one another to raise the standards of competition and in London Harley Street there is a collection of experts in one place. I want to mirror this collectively around Scotland. I love what I do and what we do is make people happy and confident so they can achieve more. Most importantly we offer alternatives.”
